What is CEREC?
We adopt CEREC system. CEREC is the new technology to produce filling and crown by machine in a short time without making a stone model for treating dental caries and aesthetic dental treatment. This CAD/CAM system designs and produces repairing material by computer in dental clinic and eventually shortens cost and creation time because you don’t need to have dental technician's office make repairing material. The treated area is scanned by oral scanner and then the images are scanned into computer. After that, we design repairing material considering a balance with other teeth and occlusion of teeth, and finally shave off ceramic block.
Point1① Feature of CEREC 1 – significantly shortened treatment time -
CEREC system shortens the time to put filling or crown on a teeth, because we don’t have to take an impression of teeth and we can reduce the time taken to request dental technician's office and creation time. Treatment period and the number of times of regular attendance to a dentist can be reduced by producing repairing material in the dental clinic in a short time. At the shortest, repairing material can be completed in 24 hours and the patient can have the material implanted at the second visit. It used to take several days or weeks to take a mold of teeth, request dental technician’s office, form denture mold by dental technician, and return the material by mail. However, there processes are now completed within a day and treatment time is significantly reduced.
Point2② Feature of CEREC 2 – more precise repairing material -
CEREC recreates scanned oral cavity and designs repairing material on computer to produce precisely. In the past, deviation between repairing material and actual teeth may occur when taking a mold of teeth and forming gypsum, because dental technicians make repairing material by hand work. On the contrary, CEREC makes precise repairing material steadily by recreating scanned teeth without misshaping material.
